We want you to play for All England

Calling all cricketers, be part of history and represent All England against the Hampshire All Stars in a celebration match on Broadhalfpenny Down on Friday 24 June.

2022 marks the 250th anniversary of the first First-Class cricket match. Together with Hampshire County Cricket Club we are recruiting the most worthy players from across the country to take part in our celebration matches in a season of commemoration.

We are looking for players of all ages, men and women, from all backgrounds but with a powerful cricketing back story; we want to form an inclusive team who will be proud to be part of a historical occasion at The Cradle of Cricket.

We want to hear from you if you have an interesting story to tell, have made a significant contribution to community or county cricket, have a historical association with Broadhalfpenny Down or England cricket,  or have played at a high standard.

Please make your application stand out. You don't have to be English, just be happy to represent All England and play in the spirit of cricket.

We encourage all applicants to explore the website to find out more about the history and the Charitable Trust, and we would appreciate any donations no matter how big or small to help fund disability and youth cricket matches, and maintain this beautiful and historic cricket ground.

The Barmy Army is providing a special souvenir kit for the day.

Over the next week or so we are selecting the team together with representatives from the ECB, Wisden Cricket Monthly and Cricket District. Please note that the Broadhalfpenny Down selection committee's decision is final.

Thanks for applying! We'll get back to you soon. In the meantime, why not become a Friend of Broadhalfpenny Down by Donating £15 using the Donate button on the website? All money goes to fund disability and youth cricket and the upkeep of this historic ground.
