2009 was the Golden Jubilee of Broadhalfpenny Brigands Cricket Club and celebrations began with a country walk and pub lunch in Hambledon in March.
In the cricket season, there was a special T20 competition held in June with the Hampshire Wayfarers and a cricket week took place at the end of July with a Hampshire v Sussex Visually Impaired cricket match and Brigands taking on visiting teams from the Jack Frost XI to the Kenya Kongonis.
To round a successful year off, a dinner was held at the Hampshire Rose Bowl (now the Ageas Bowl) to mark the Golden Jubilee, and the printed menu listed the year that members first played at Broadhalfpenny Down.
Seems like a lifetime ago now. Nice to see my name on the menu! Ben Hodges - 2004
